Whybins takes entire IAG account – NRMA, SGIC, SGIO – in shoot-out with M&C Saatchi

Screen shot 2010-08-09 at 4.44.35 PM.pngCB Exclusive – Campaign Brief can reveal that Whybin\TBWA\Tequila, Sydney has won the entire IAG account – which comprises NRMA, SGIC and SGIO – in a two way pitch against M&C Saatchi. The win, apart from above the line, also includes digital (digital incumbent is Mark), which was not on the original pitch brief.

The incumbent was STW owned agency, Human, which withdrew from thepitch back in June. Human, which was set up by STW in 2007 to house theaccount, came up with the current ‘Unworry’ campaign a year after winning the business from M&C Saatchi.

The win is the first pitch creatively led by new joint executive creative directors Dave Bowman and Matty Burton, who were recruited from Saatchi & Saatchi Sydney and Droga5 Sydney respectively back in May.

Insurance Australia Group Limited (IAG) has announced the appointment of Whybin\TBWA\Tequila as its new creative agency, consolidating above-the-line, digital and direct advertising work previously handled by two agencies.

 

The agency has won the IAG account for the NRMA brand in New South Wales and Queensland, the SGIO brand in Western Australia and the SGIC brand in South Australia. The win is one of the largest pieces of advertising business in Australia.
