Why Daily Telegraph linked to CLD’s location aware mobile polling of Rudd v Gillard question

In this case, what if it could use mobile to gain the pulse of a nation?

By Friday morning CLD had built geopolly.com, a location aware mobile site that allows a user to voice their choice between our two leaders.

Says CLD director Darren Winterford: “What makes geopolly so powerful is that it not only allows a user a simple one-click, convenient experience on their mobile but it also provides a snapshot of results to the user for their suburb and the nation. For the analyst, it provides the ability to view the data suburb by suburb.

“By Friday lunch time, after an unprecedented response on Twitter, the Daily Telegraph decided to use it exclusively to view the preference of a nation and asked the question – Kev or Julia?

“We think it’s a great example of how mobile can be used effectively and how powerful the arena has become.

“Whilst this example may be about political squabbling, the implications for brand activation and live research are potentially limitless.”
