What a waste of time without BPay
UPDATED: Consumers are being encouraged to stop wasting their time and pay their bills instantly online with BPAY via this new campaign from BMF Sydney.
So BPAY is encouraging this audience to be ‘awesome’ in their time wasting with a competition held on the website www.awesometimewasting.com.au
A number of web-based films have been and will be released to drive people to the website.
The competition asks bill payers to submit their idea of what ‘The World’s Biggest Most Awesome Waste of Time’ would be. These will then be voted on, and the winning submission will then be created.
The competition will also be supported with: Avant Cards, Bill Posters and eDMs.
Agency: BMF
Production company: Luscious Films
Media: IKON

Yeah well they got that right.
Everything about this is really good – except the bubble wrap one. For some reason it feels a little bit shit. And not in a “it’s supposed to be a little bit shit” kind of way. The rest is great though. But then again, I think the Spray ‘n Wipe campaign is great too.
guiness snails+those sheep all lit up=not much really
I hate all this ‘think up a really stupid thing to do’ shit, with a stupid gay website. Feels a lot like Dry Dreams and a million other things of a similar ilk (but at least DD – before it had its balls removed – had a reason for being that was integrally wound around the brand) Sure, I understand the logic – like all good advertising it’s just exaggerating the insight, but why not just do a really, really good ad that reaches the mass market with the sort of unarguable case that makes people think ‘wow, that really makes a lot of sense, I’ll do that from now on.’?
Well put 2:47. Agreed.
ooh ah hah hah heh he he…those good-looking well-filmed funsters and their bubble-wrap related japes, having so much fun being awesome with bubble-wrap!
oh, how I love bpay now.
i reckon it’s bloody awesome and appeals to the target, well done
this is cool. well done.
And how would you know who the target is, 4:47? Surely it’s anybody who has bills to pay – that’s everybody, not just fucking Gen Y tossers with an inclination to interact at length with their computers or iPhones. Or as Mo (founder of Mojo) said in an important meeting when asked by the American Coca Cola client who Coke’s target market was, “Any cunt with a mouth.”
Signed, an old and wise 2:47.
I hear you bro
when did Simon leave??
Let’s be honest, this is rubbish.
ironic really.
I feel like I have just wasted my time here.
So I have more time on on my side because I’ve used Bpay. What do I do with this time? I know, why don’t I go and make a real zany video. For fuck’s sake get a grip and take 2.47s advice. It’s not rubbish, it’s total fucking rubbish.
So this is what 450 CD’s come up with.
It seems that having those 3 initials BMF on the credits , is certainly no longer a guarantee of excellence. This work is proof of that, it’s absolute rubbish. It appears that Mr Taylor has some hard work ahead of him.
lets take one of the most widely viewed clips on youtube and change the subject matter from illuminated sheep to illuminated snails and bolt a broad generic statement on the end of it. why not, we couldnt think of anything original and directly related to our brand?
ahh good to see the old ‘pointless things i could be doing instead’ analogy again, whats it for this time?
Ive seen worse.
This is OK in my opinion.
The idea is there – the execution is to self indulgent for my liking but maybe the punters like it. Thats all that matters really.
Boring. Bolder direction might have saved it.
incredibly bland art direction, the whole site really feels photoshopped.
retrofitted ripped off content (snails intead of sheeps) and generally lacking.. what is this doing for bpay? wouldn’t they be better off doing a brand building campaign, visa/mastercard style?
