WA’s ‘Extraordinary’ taxi ride launch falls flat

WA Today reports that WA Tourism’s “Extraordinary Taxi Ride”, conceived by Host, Sydney, got off to a very flat start this morning, when the RAC had to be called to jump start the taxi being used to promote the state’s natural beauty to the world. The multi-million dollar tourism campaign was due to start in a blaze of glory this morning, with onlookers, dignitaries and local band Gyroscope gathered at Forrest Place to see taxi driver Doug Slater off.
The WA industry is still seething that the account was awarded to an Eastern States agency back in July last year.

now THAT is genius
WA – wait a while.
A very dull start for a very dull idea….it’ll take more than jump leads to get this one going.
“It’s a big idea. It’s not advertising, it’s a conversation.”
I predict this will be the biggest waste of public money since the Imelda Marcos shoe collection.
you guys are kidding right?
Its a great vehicle to show off the state in an honest way. The distances involved are a reality that is part of the WA story.
Will be interested to see how it unfolds.
Crap from the start. Think about who you are talking to – why the hell should they be involved and give a toss. Advertising getting it wrong.
is it relevant to be using all that petrol too? quickest way to pollute the natural beauty of WA. and everyone hates a taxi driver.
JESUS TITTY-F CHRIST 2.57. WHAT PLANET ARE YOU ON?! IT’S ONE TAXI. A SINGLE FREAKIN’ TAXI. IT WOULDN’T HAVE COST THAT MUCH AND WOULD ONLY SEE A DOZEN PEOPLE A DAY. THIS IS THE KIND OF ADVERTISING THE WORLD SHOULD BE DOING. YEAH! TAXIS ALL AROUND THE WORLD SHOWING PEOPLE THE WHOLE WORLD. ALL OF IT! yes.
Yes, somebody has definitely thrown up in this cab.
Thankfully, the opinions of paying customers are all that matters in the evaluation of effective advertising.
