Warren Brown’s 2011 Cannes Diary – Day Four from the Cannes Promo and Activation jury room
Warren Brown, creative founder of BMF Australia, is president of the Promo & Activation jury. He has just finished day three of judging and writes exclusively for Campaign Brief. Other Aussie and Kiwi jurors will be contributing exclusively to the CB Blog over the next week, so make sure you check in daily, hourly, every minute…
Big day today where we got to see the results of our efforts over the past three days. No surprises to see that there were a few surprising omissions and inclusions. Still it gave us an opportunity to massage the shortlist into a respectable body of work that will no doubt be received with a few OMG’s and WTFs. It wouldn’t be Cannes if the list was greeted otherwise.
Anyway I’m proud of the jury and the work that has been shortlisted. Dylan seems to be enjoying himself enormously, in fact one of the day’s highlights was taking a pic of him with his head through a Lions poster.
Our Argentinean judge Nicolas is now world famous due to his travel case study featured on my last post on the CB Blog. If he gets invited to judge D&AD and The One Show and pulls the same trick he’d have a helluva campaign. Metal tomorrow then we can all rejoin the human race which will be busy cranking the croissette up into party mode, perfect timing.
One last thing, technology has become a crutch and my guess is all the people who get up on the stage on Monday will have put the idea first.
Quelle surprise.
