Screen shot 2010-12-04 at 6.42.28 AM.jpgAt 10.30 AEST time yesterday, Wagonaut Kim Holian, winner of a nationwide search from over five thousand entries to find “The one to re-launch Wagon Wheels into space (or as close as we can get)”, pressed the launch button that sent the rocket flying into delicious history.

The rocket, launched in conjunction with the Australian Rocketry Association at Cedar Grove, 45 minutes out of Brisbane, reached speeds in excess of 700 km/h within three seconds of launch, with the Wagon Wheels themselves experiencing over 12 G of force and reaching a height in excess of one kilometre in just seconds.

The campaign was developed by George Patterson Y&R, Sydney.
