BMF turns simple telco consumer benefits into ‘Amaysim stories’ in new integrated campaign
In a world accustomed to the shifty ways of Telcos, an honest, straight-talking, transparent telecommunications company seems amazing. That’s amaysim.
amaysim itself has a simple yet compelling story to tell – no lock in contracts, honest plans, a 100% Australian customer service center and an easy-to-understand BYO phone policy. But because the rest of Australia is so used to confusing mobile plans, hidden fees, over charging, and being on hold in Bangalore, the new campaign, launched by BMF this week, frames amaysim’s simple benefits as being amazing. They’ve been turned into ‘Amaysim Stories’.
Says BMF’s associate creative director, Jake Rusznyak: “In the cluttered and competitive telco space, amaysim make products that are unique, simple and compelling. We wanted their ads to be the same.”
Christian Magel, founder and chief marketing officer at amaysim says: “We believe in putting our customers first. This is why we love the ‘amaysim stories’ concept so much. It gets our key messages across using real Aussie characters and through them shows that amaysim really does offer simplicity, fairness and good value, all with a laid-back tongue-in-cheek approach.”
The launch campaign consists of three television commercials, as well as point of sale and digital advertising.

amazymingly appalling acting. bad. no really. this is just bad. Client must have been hypnotised. 3-2-1 you’re back in the room.
Cheap and nasty. Fail.
I love the fact that the women are so average and normal. They remind me of the background staff in the UK Office. And I have already called Amaysim…..I reckon this will work it’s tits off and sell shedloads
I wonder if it’s meant to be bad acting? I wonder if you should be an advertising if you didn’t pick that up?
Amazingly appalling spelling and punctuation. That is what’s bad.
I like it. I think the acting is supposed to be wooden.
Tough category. You don’t often get to make stuff like this:

Yes Hypnotist… because you say its ‘meant’ to be bad acting…
Am I a chicken yet?
It’s radical. If you don’t like it you’re probably just bad in bed.
Horrible
Flavio Fonseca is not an account director. But I have seen him eat a few for breakfast.
it is very average performances. can see they’ve gone for flat acting but it’s not working.
So sad if this is where advertising has ended up.
Totally devoid of charm, wit and craft.
