Traffic revamps the in-store experience for OZ Design with ‘The Wizards of OZ’ campaign
OZ Design furniture has charged Traffic, Sydney to create an innovative strategy to reinvent their brand and the in-store experience.
The new campaign titled “Ask the Wizards of OZ” positions the furniture retailer as experts in Australian furniture design.
The “Ask the Wizards of OZ” campaign launches nationally today across a fully integrated campaign which includes television, magazines, radio and online, and features the company’s staff and furniture makers as the ‘Wizards of OZ’.

Says Trish Osborne, national marketing manager, OZ Design Furniture: “Our people make our business unique. We have a team of passionate individuals who are experts in their field – they deliver quality furniture that’s designed for the Australian way of life. The concept that Traffic has created works perfectly with our brand, as our people are talented Wizards and that is reflected in the design and quality of our furniture.”
The “Ask the Wizards of OZ” campaign will also tackle the trend towards online buying – by reinventing the in store experience and promoting the benefits of getting good advice from experts. OZ Design stores across the country will be brought to life with cut outs of the Wizards, information leaflets, more informative ticketing, and a new jingle, which will also feature across marketing material.
Says Andrew Begg, CEO of Traffic: “OZ Design is a brand which has huge potential. The “Ask the Wizards of OZ” campaign is designed to improve brand awareness, cut through the sameness the industry is currently experiencing and entice people in store to get good advice and see just how good their product is.”

Oh. My. God.
This must be a contender for “Worst ad posted on CB Blog 2011”.
I hope the client is as offended as I am.
Begg’s the question….did Traffic actually succeed in achieveing what they were charged with doing in the first sentence above?
TV production is in such a sad place right now. To think that Oz Design are paying for media for this is just tragic. You would be better off having the logo up for 30 seconds.
Is this a joke, so let me recap wizards of Oz, really? is the company about the freaks who work there or the bland furniture in the background? and “the furniture is designed for the australian home” I can see a table, a chair, and a few bird cages that will be covered in shit within a few days. Does this company realise that four legged tables and generic chairs are suitable and in fact are in most homes worldwide?
This is the second worst ad of 2011 after that eagle one ddb did yesterday absolute tripe.
Am I mistaken, is this a new ad for liasons hor house in Surry Hills? as for the odd little fellow he needs lockin up just for lookin like a pedo.Who puts plants under the table seriously?

I really don ‘t wish to be unkind (and maybe as your mum would say “say nothing if you can’t say something nice”), but that is about as bad as it can get on all fronts. Almost “piss-take” funny, when of course it isn’t mean’t to be. Everything about it is a fail. Ok, it happens, but word of advice, don’t PR it and expect people to be kind.
Even your mum would say it was shite.
Why, oh mo fuggin’ why did they leave IdeaWoks? At least the old stuff had an idea and was executed in a half decent way. Faaaaark meeee.
Selma,
They left ideaworks coz of the superb leadership and strategic direction (as you know)
