Paper Baron iPhone game takes off for Royal Australian Airforce via GPY&R, Melbourne
George Patterson Y&R, Melbourne scores another direct hit with its latest iPhone game for the Royal Australian Air Force.
Paper Baron, a fun multiplayer turn-based game, was designed and developed by the agency.
The game takes everyone’s favorite pastime, paper planes, to the next level.
By launching paper planes on their iPhone and flying it the furthest in their local area, players could become the Paper Baron of that physical location.
To achieve this, the team developed a GPS-aware social game that meant people could challenge friends at work or at home to become the Paper Baron, or even take on complete strangers on their own turf. With its fun and addictive gameplay, Paper Baron gives the Air Force a fresh way to educate and lure new recruits, and fly into the radar of young, casual gamers.
Says Kate Mathews, Air Force brand manager: “The great thing about this game is not only its ability to test people‚s reactions but also lets them challenge friends in real locations in real life. We‚re excited about where we can take Paper Baron, it‚s a fantastic leap into the smartphone gaming space for the Air Force.”
Download Paper Baron on your iPhone and explore its handcrafted world made entirely out of paper. Paper Baron will be available for free through iTunes on Monday 13th February, 2012.

Shouldn’t the game have been titled “Paper Ace” rather than “Paper Baron”?
I think we are flying for the wrong side here…
Didn’t Patts launch a web-based paper plane game for the Air Force two years ago?
“everyone’s favourite pastime”… pft – I’m far more fond of necking scotch and kicking puppies.
Really cool game. Shit name… agree with ‘biggles’ on that one.
Other than that – nice work guys.
Patts, you guys are miles infront one the mobile apps scene. Happy days at Cannes with the new categories.
The name makes me think of Richard Pratt – even though he was the cardboard box baron.
Well played all involved.
