Jeep to sit 12 metres high at Jeep Portsea Polo
Jeep Australia will launch an Australian-first marketing initiative, JOLE, on Saturday 14th January 2012 at the Jeep Portsea Polo.
JOLE, literally meaning, “Jeep on a Pole”, will take centre stage at the exclusive and high profile event this weekend with a Jeep Wrangler to be pushed to new heights mounted on a 12-metre tall, freestanding pole.
Chrysler Australia general manager of marketing, Sam Tabart said the JOLE display is a ground-breaking and exciting project on the Jeep 2012 calendar.
Says Tabart: “We are thrilled to be launching this innovative concept at the Jeep Portsea Polo.
The JOLE initiative is the start of an exciting string of unique activations that Jeep will be implementing this year, breathing new life into the brand and supporting our dealers nationally.”
With an installation time of just two hours, JOLE can be tailored to suit each location with varying heights of up to 12 metres.
The revolutionary display requires no ground foundation and can be erected from a space as small as two car parks and at only 45cm in diameter it can hold up to 14,000 kilograms. The mechanics of the pole rotates one revolution per minute offering strong visibility of the mounted vehicle from all angles.
Jeep Australia are the official naming rights sponsor of the 2012 Portsea Polo.

Um, seriously… WHY?
Why?
wouldn’t that have been better for the VW Polo..??
So are they advertising how tough the jeep is or how tough the pole is? cause that’s a tough pole. I’d buy one of those.
I’m impressed if it drove there.
‘cos if you drive a Jeep, you’ve got a pole up your arse
Have I just gone to THE ONION website by mistake?
Eh?
The embodiment of ‘run it up a flagpole and see who salutes’.
I guess anyone who’s interested in the under side of a jeep would find this nifty.
How about Jeep in a hole?
The marketing team dig a 15 metre pit with their bare hands and the jeep is driven into it. The people can throw like orange peel and stubby lids onto it. Makes it more interactive too. Better still, they can use the JOLE can too – Jeep + Hole. Genius.
The driver must either be:
a) A fireman
b) A Stripper
c) All of the above
Ok, now I just have to have a Jeep.
Looks like the Deniliquin Ute Muster just pipped them with this idea

Look at it this way guys – we’ve now officially hit rock bottom.
The only way from here is up, and I for one am looking forward to seeing good stuff on here again.
“Honey, what’s that in the driveway?”
“Our new Jeep”
“But we don’t need another car.”
“Yeah but this one can be on a pole.”
“What?”
“A giant pole in the air.”
We don’t need to drive in the air, on a pole. Take it back.”
“But it was on a pole…”
This is so funny. In a laughing at the shithouse concept kind of way.
Sam T rocked the world with his pile of Smart cars at Mercedes dealerships. Remember that?
He’s obviously into vertically integrated marketing.
Oh for fucks sake.
Why not use the world most biggest polo goals (two poles) and then you have the worlds first and most awesomest polo goal seeing that they are sponsoring the Polo tournament?
We could call it JOLO couldn’t we?
This is bollocks.
Car wreckers did this first, they didn’t know why either
Many years I was quite drunk and ordered a plain take away pizza. Hardly unique, I’ll grant you.
On leaving the shop I opened the box to take a peek at the pizza. Staring at me was nothing but baked dough. ‘Uh, urgh,’ I thought, ‘it’s flipped over in the box and all of the topping will be stuck to the bottom.’ So I flipped it over, only to discover that the bottom was also plain. Yep, both sides were devoid of topping.
And for a few minutes, in my drunken stupour, I was caught in this vortex of nothingness and incredulity, where I’d just turn this pizza over and over hoping to discover the expected topping. Perhaps I thought another dimension might suddenly open up and reveal something remotely tasty? It didn’t.
The JOLE reminds me of that.
Jeep + Pole = “Breathing new life into brand”
So is the JOLE a snorkel?
Their performance makes me wonder if they’re sitting on top of a couple of JOLES.
This would be slightly less lame if it wasn’t spruiked as an “Australia first marketing initiative”. Particularly since the actual marketer in question has already done said initiative, for Mercedes about a million years ago.
Why is there a Jeep on a pole? Why is that good?
Also why are Jeep sponsoring a polo event?
These are confusing times.
its clearly a good concept if 25 people from adland are going WTF? that’ll translate to thousands of WTF’s in the real world. it’ll get talked about
It’s so dumb it works. People love this shit. JOLE has my vote.
The Jole has an unusual power. Shit’s growing on me.
The inspiration, I believe, is Billy Joel. More specifically his touching song, Up Town Girl.
Looking forward to the TVC.
If there happen to be any pole dancers in Portsea they can go parking!
It’s not marketing . It is markething.
No no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no!!
@Why oh Why said: LOL!!! It’s hilarious.
I keep reading the headline “Jeep to sit 12 metres high at Jeep Portsea Polo” and trying to find sense, I just can’t…it does make me laugh though – a load. It’s so bad…
Am I right in thinking no-one , not even CumminsRoss would put their names to this dros.
When you’ve got nothing to say – jam a pole up its arse.
Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr.
From the people who brought you soap-on-a-rope and gnome-on-a-stick….
This campaign is worth it simply for the “laugh at the dumbness” factor and reading the comments.
