Vegemite launches ‘Quarantine Cuisine’ master-class series with Adam Liaw via Thinkerbell
Australia’s newest cooking sensation, Vegemite Quarantine Cuisine hosted by Adam Liaw, went live this week via Thinkerbell.
As part of a three-part Zoom masterclass series, Liaw shows Australia (and the world) in real-time, that just because we are all confined at home, it doesn’t mean we can’t get a little creative in the kitchen.
As we settle into lockdown for a while longer, Vegemite Quarantine Cuisine will feed us some inspiration to whip up meals using the items we have already stockpiled in our pantries. However, they’re recipes with a twist – they all include one pantry staple that we all have at home, Vegemite.

Says Liaw: “The key ingredient to cooking great food during isolation is probably already in your pantry. I’ll be sharing some of my favourite recipes, using Australia’s favourite source of umami – Vegemite. Join me to discover some ways to take Vegemite beyond your morning slice of toast.”
Says Matt Gray, head of marketing, Bega Foods: “We know that Vegemite fans love finding new ways to enjoy their favourite spread, so we’ve joined forces with Adam Liaw to bring some exciting recipes to life. After all cooking with Vegemite ensures every meal Tastes Like Australia.”
Tune in and cook along with Liaw for the two remaining episodes, Tuesday 5th and 12th May at 5 PM AEST on Zoom (first in gets a space).
If you miss out on tuning into the episodes, you can catch up via the mini-series posted on Vegemite’s socials.

Adam Liaw – the human swiss army knife
Has every brand now done their celebrity at home showing off product livestream yet? Are there any left? Will Mark Taylor show is how to adjust his Fujitsu airconditioner? Will Jennifer Hawkins show is how to paint our nails. Can’t wait for this lockdown to be over so I can get away from content like this.
I posed the same general question a few days ago about this already tedious technique but my comment wasn’t posted. Are comments from the nom-de-plume Old CD Guy now automatically rejected because they are often negative, rather than jolly and reinforcing? Just because I would like to see a higher standard of advertising in Australia and I mostly heap criticism on the weak efforts PR’d here doesn’t mean my concerns are not legitimate. I would like nothing better than to be able to praise what I see on this blog, but so much of it is lazy, unoriginal, unimaginative, uninspired or just plain bland. It’s a blog after all, and opinions, as long as they are based on an analysis of the work and not directed at any particular person or persons should be welcome. Finally, well done to the commenter below who spotted Adam Ferrier in one of the vignettes. One could be forgiven for thinking that the agency padded it out to make it look like this ad (and ‘concept’) is bigger and more popular than it really is.
Hope you buy a copy of my book Im promoting during the zoom too. The actual zoom was attended by a few 100 people but the real reason we did it was for the pr / earned media it generated, as well as the number of people who watch the cut down content. We’re really happy with it. Great fun and seems to have responded really well with the general public – more so that with you Old CD guy.
Why not just release them on YouTube? I don’t get the zoom angle, apart from it being very topical.
What’s the benefit of showing it in ‘real time?’ It’s a cooking show.
I see Adam Ferrier in the audience. I suspect the woman asking a question has something to do with the agency also.
How were you able to read the comment about Adam Ferrier when it was posted after yours?
