Two Black Pencils for SapientNitro at D&AD
SapientNitro Live via Twitter from D&AD awards: we picked up not 1 but 2 Black Pencils for BestJob in the World campaign, a historic 1st for an Australian campaign!
CumminsNitro, Brisbane (now SapientNitro) was the most awarded agency in the world tonight at night – winning two of only five Black Pencils awarded – both predictably for the Queensland Tourism ‘Best job in the world’ campaign – one in Direct, the other in Integrated. The campaign also won two Yellow Pencils on the way to being awarded the very rare Black Pencils, crowning a record run of awards the campaign has won at every major show in the world – including three Grand Prix at Cannes. Without doubt, Best Job is now the most awarded ad campaign ever in the history of advertising.
The full Australian Pencil tally will be posted on the CB Blog at 7.30am this morning, Sydney time…

this also took the record for the biggest one-off in advertising history.
one-off because the account was moved somewhere else.
zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
Did Todd Sampson & Collis come up with the ‘Best Job’ concept?
Best creative in the world doesn’t cover worst account service
Are you still hurting 7:14?
Get over it!
@ 9:50
No. I’m just saying that they won’t do anything good after it. May as well close the agency and retire.
That’s awesome! Well done.
You guys are the Will Genia’s of advertising , one minute your playing 2nd grade in Brisbane and the next your one of the best in the world … don’t you love when Queensland smashes NSW in ANYTHING !!!
well done !

best jobs deserves what it got. congratulations guys!!!
I agree, 4:53. Although nearly everyone may be sick of hearing about this campaign, you can’t discount the anti-Brisbane element behind the constant flak.
This has been a splintered chicken bone in the throats of Sydney and Melbourne right from the beginning and it’s probably safe to say that the IP addresses of the negators would confirm that geography.

You’re a dick mate, going off what you said the same could be said of Publicis Mojo. That agency is huge and has huge staff numbers but the only good thing they’ve churned out is Pure waters. What’s the excuse on the rest of the work?
The problem that every agency out there faces is how many ideas get bought. You’ve got no idea how many other brilliant ideas have been presented by Sapient Nitro.
How many great ideas have you had that have never been bought?
That’s why we should celebrate any agency’s successes because they were the last man standing on the battle field. This is the real point.
Well done Sapient Nitro! You kept a genius idea alive brought it to life without compromising everything that’s great about the campaign and now you’ve reaped the rewards.
10.11. You’re just a cock!
And then you go back to second grade.
To learn how to punctuate.
How are the tourism figures for the Whitsunday’s pray tell?
This ‘campaign’ is a classic example of why the ad industry has a crook name in business; ad wankers congratulating ad wankers, and a client with an empty till.
Spare me, you bunch of sychophants.
2.45…
They ended up having a tv show created by the BBC that was filming out in the region for 12 weeks. The news channels around the world picked it up and splashed it all over tv screens. $100million worth of pr achieved globally off a $1million budget. If that’s not good enough I’d suggest the Queensland government really got serious about their advertising budget.
If people weren’t visiting it may have to do with a tiny little thing called the gfc? Tahiti is absolutely screwed. Most of the resorts in bora bora are empty. Thailand and Bali are up… No suprise there. Even for Australians, it’s cheaper to holiday there than it is in our own country.
Hey hey hey 8:57, people like 2:45 contribute a lot to the local industry. Lots of anger, bile and oppression. I for one hope the cooont dies a painful death but on the other hand, his or hers anonymous blog contribution to the greater international creative standing of our business really makes a difference.
Seriously.
6:59 + 8:27
Obviously you’re the same person with the same hard-on for SapientNitro, so I’ll be brief in responding to your comments:
Publicis Mojo are a better agency than SapientNitro, and by a good deal too. Their standard of creativity has been higher than most international agencies, and not only that but they’re consistent – while SN is not. The shoe isn’t on the other foot until SN can back it up with something else, because for the majority of us in AdLandia we don’t know any other work from them.
Oh, and we know you work there, and there’s no need to defend yourself for what was a top-notch ad. You just have to do something else good for us to stop saying it’s a fluke.
