Tourism Queensland sends out Million Dollar Memo in new campaign via SapientNitro Brisbane

Tourism Queensland, via agency SapientNitro Brisbane, has sent out a Million Dollar Memo inviting companies and workplaces worldwide to compete for the Ultimate Reward – one million dollars (AUD) worth of travel experiences to Queensland, Australia, uniquely tailored for the winning company.
Entry is simple and the prize is like no other. Whether it’s awe inspiring adventure, relaxation on tropical islands and beaches, up-close encounters with some of the great wonders of the natural world or simple enjoyment of the laid back Queensland lifestyle, we’ll tailor the travel experiences for the winning company and ensure its employees enjoy the Ultimate Reward.
The competition is open to anyone from any organisation, company, business or workplace in any country.
Interested? All you need to do is put together a video entry that demonstrates why your company is a great place to work and why Queensland is the ultimate reward destination.
From the entries received, 20 will be eventually short-listed. Each of those companies will be asked to nominate an employee to represent them in a 10 day long Incentive Challenge Event in August 2011. The 20 Finalists will tour Queensland and take part in a series of exciting and unique challenges located on the Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, Whitsundays, and Tropical North Queensland.
If your representative is the ultimate winner, the prize will go to your company to use between July 2012 and June 2013.
You can find all the entry details here, as well as information about how entries will be assessed and answers to frequently asked questions.

holy shit, best work place!!! what an awesome idea – wait its been done, to death
I bet this was one of the shelved concepts from the “Best Job…” brainstorm.
it’s a bit of a poor cousin to best job isn’t it
A sales promo aimed at the business convention market – let’s be honest it’s first base marketing.
More spin and puff from TQ and their agencies.
Where Australia Shines…for tired reheated ideas. Of course, none of it will work. Even Best Job failed miserably because the product is faded, old-hat, hugely expensive and too far away.
Whatever they do is always going to seem like the poor cousin of ‘Best Job’. It sounds odd, but having such an awarded campaign under your belt has its disadvantages and this is the perfect example.
best job in the world was the best idea of the decade. But obviously it’s not the same the second time round. I agree with 10.48.
12.35 – to clarify for you – Best Job was the most “over-rated idea of the decade” – not the “best” one.
It didn’t work (in fact visitation went down during and after the campaign) and it was just an over-hyped, sales promotion, with more fathers than the kid of an LA Lakers Cheer Girl. Recent count over 50 people…..
Enough said.
By the way this won’t work either for the above mentioned reasons.
What a load of croc! This is doomed to fail… I cannot wait to see what self respecting companies are eager to prove their facetious worth… And that they have so much spare resource in this economic climate and are happy for their employees to get involved with this ‘Another shitty hoe video’ nonsense. Yeah, real motivating! My work-place is the best in the world because I’ve not been fired so far through the GFC!
Jealous much? Best Job did a hell of a lot more for tourism in Queensland & Australia than most tourism campaigns did in the last decade. You think you can do better, then pitch something worthwhile.
