Advertising creatives launch kids book Parrot Carrot with companion interactive edition app created by Leo Burnett, Sydney voiced by Kamahl
Copywriters Kate Burt (GPY&R) and Jol Temple (Whybin\TBWA) have collaborated with art director Jon Foye (The Marketing Store) to create children’s book Parrot Carrot.
Published by Allen and Unwin, the book was launched yesterday at Ariel Bookshop, and quickly sold out.
The book is also one of the first published children’s books in Australia to be launched with a companion interactive edition. Created by Leo Burnett Sydney, and voiced by Kamahl, the Parrot Carrot Safari iPhone app brings the characters in the book to life in a unique way by superimposing them on the viewer’s own surroundings.
Both book and app are available nationally from today in Bookstores and at parrotcarrot.com

Congratulations guys! I read the book to my daughter and she was in hysterics.
awesome Jol.
daz.
The CD’s of George Patts and TBWA surely missed an opportunity. Well done Leo’s for latching on faster than the rest.
Jon Foye Productions!
Good work all round.
Nice one guys! The launch was great fun and the book rocks. So why no “chimp that looks like a gimp?”
Chimp that looks like a pimp?
Awesome work getting it out there. can’t wait to see it. Congrats Jol
My 2-year old daughter loves it already… especially the gnu that looks like a canoe.
Nice one chaps!
I’m usually a cynical bastard on CB but no hats off, this is excellent.
Well done Jol. It is without a doubt the best book ever created by a person in advertising which contains pictures of carrots. And whales.
If you exclude carrots and whales and wish to read about imaginary horse instead, it falls to second.
However, it is still the best book ever created by a person in advertising which does not feature imaginary horses but does feature carrots and whales and that is something to be proud of.
