The Works snares Host’s director of operations Paddy Morahan for general manager role
Sydney-based The Works has appointed Paddy Morahan to the position of general manager.
Morahan was lured from Host, where he worked as director of operations.
Previous to Host, Morahan worked at Leo Burnett and M&C Saatchi in Sydney, Mad Dogs & Englishmen in New York and Bartle Bogle Hegarty in London.
With over 18 years experience in the business, Morahan will play a pivotal role in furthering The Works’ position of ‘Creatives on the Forefront’.
Says Damian Pincus, creative partner and founder at The Works: “I could not think of a better guy than Paddy to steer the agency. He’s a natural manager and really gets the business. Coming from Host, until recently another independent agency, he understands the value of unique business models. With Paddy on board we know we will move from strength to strength and push The Works Creatives on the Forefront model even further.”
Speaking of his new agency Morahan says: “The Works is a vibrant and creatively driven independent agency. With such a unique business model and a strong, diverse talent pool, I can only see the agency prospering well into the future. The partners’ entrepreneurial spirit will ensure that we have the agility to deliver fantastic work in new, highly-efficient ways.”
Pincus added: “Paddy’s operational and management skills will ensure The Works continues to deliver world class work for our clients.”

great guy, great hire, good on ya paddy.
The Works website has a hotline for ‘instant creative.’
‘….Ideas in the Same Day. Some things just can’t wait – you need a problem solved super quick with no fuss. At The Works there’s an emergency phone set up to take your call right now!’
Sounds great.
nice one Paddy – congrats buddy!
“…a strong commitment to further embedding managerial and operations excellence.”
That’s just what this industry needs more of.
Who is the Creative Director @ The Works?
“Creative at the forefront”!!….. I haven’t got a clue who it is.
Anyone know? Please reveal !!!!!
Read the fucking story CONFUSED.
I’d assume that if Damien Pincus is a Creative Partner who is being quoted, he is probably the Creative Director.
The ‘Creative’ bit is the clue.
Oh, and well done Paddy. Top bloke.
Where are these guys sitting? That’s a lot of man for a very small balcony. Makes me uncomfortable.
Nice one Paddy.
@ Damien
Assume nothing mate…Creative partner does not mean Creative Director.
I am a Copywriter and I have a Creative Partner who is an Art Director.
Who is the Creative Director??
Ha!
Your turn.
Unfortunately ‘Confused’, you’re aptly named. ‘Creative Partner’ usually applies to the most senior creative person in the joint, typically a stakeholder such as a financial partner or director. You can safely assume that that person is therefore responsible for the creative product of the organisation, even if you think ‘Creative Partner’ is a more wanky title than ‘Creative Director’. I suspect however that unless you work in adland ‘Creative Director’ makes one sound like a huge tosser as well. Think about it for a millisecond.
Silly banter.
Well done Paddy!!
