The Work 2021 Contenders: Hooligan Collective

Campaign Brief recognises and showcases the great work that is being produced in the region with The Work 2021 Contenders…

Hyundai: After Dark
Hooligan Creative
To launch the edgy Hyundai i30 N-line, the agency Analogfolk created a different approach to the usual happy family, perfect world car advertising. To appeal to a younger urban audience, Hooligan Collective created a film to feel more like music video than a commercial, complete with street gangs, escaped prisoners and scary clowns.

Destination NSW: Get Your Sydney On
Hooligan Creative
To kickstart domestic travel to Sydney after the post-lockdown slump, DNSW needed to remind interstate visitors of what they were missing out on. A campaign was created inviting visitors to ‘Get Your Sydney On’, showcasing many of the moments and experiences that feel uniquely Sydney, wrapped up in it’s trademark vibrant optimism.

Hyundai: 4 Second Reviews
Hooligan Creative
Created originally for Instagram, the agency Analogfolk started with the insight that the average viewing time for videos on Instagram was a mere 4.7 seconds. The creative challenge became to create 25 individual 4 second car reviews, to engage an 18-25 year old instagram audience. Hooligan Collective, channeling absurdist comedies like The Goodies and The Mighty Boosh, got to work creating an absurd collection of visually lead moments, related to the new Hyundai Venue’s features.

Destination NSW: Love It Like You Mean It
Hooligan Creative
After Covid the businesses of the Sydney CBD were suffering. What was needed was a call to action for Sydneysiders to come and support their favourite inner city bars, restaurants, shops and hotels. But a heartfelt plea just wouldn’t cut through and change behaviour, we needed to create a feeling of FOMO around all the buzz in Sydney’s emerging al fresco scene.

Noshu: Snackles
Hooligan Creative
To launch a low-sugar snack bar, the agency came up with the idea of a kid’s FBI squad running a sting to ‘get the sugar off the streets’. The media strategy of using kid ‘influencers’ around the country was a challenge however, as most of the country was locked down and the crew couldn’t travel. The solution was to shoot the influencers remotely and bring it all together with the headquarters of the ‘Not Bad Squad’ as the storytelling glue.
