The Refinery opens its doors in Melbourne

New boutique online editing and finishing house, The Refinery Post Production Services, opened in Melbourne this week specialising in creative advertising and film.

A sister company to offline editorial outfit The Butchery, The Refinery is headed up by Eugene Richards, ex online / vfx artist at Digital Pictures.

Richards has completed hundreds of commercials in his career, many of which have been award winners. He has collaborated with directors Steve Ayson, Tom Kuntz, Mark Molloy,Ben Quinn and Steve Saussey just to name a few. Richards is supported bysenior producer Freya Maddock, ex post-producer at MRPPP.

Says Richards: “I’ve been wanting to make the jump to a smaller, morecollaborative environment for a while. We have some talented artistshelping us create a truly unique space conducive to producing greatwork.”

Adds Maddock: “I’m thrilled to be working with Eugene and the talentedButchery boys and girls.  Our aim is to offer our clients somethingspecial and to truly stand out in the  Melbourne post productioncommunity. Oh and have a bit of fun while we’re at it.”
