Talented directors Maia Horniak and Christopher Frey join The Otto Empire

Directors Maia Horniak (above) and Christopher Frey (left) have joined the growing family of The Otto Empire.

Maia’s vast body of work includes commercials, short films, music videos, documentaries, a TV series pilot and a one-hour Tele-movie ‘The Sellers’, which was produced for MTV networks in 2011 after being the acclaimed winner of the Optus one80 MTV project.

Her short films have had international success, screening at over thirty esteemed international film festivals including Milan, Sydney, Bermuda, Palm Springs, Brussels and her film ‘Loveproof’ was invited to the Cannes 60th Film Festival.

Maia has an eye for exquisite detail in all her imagery, whether in the real world or the imagined world. Her work in both fiction and documentary has a strong sense of honesty and emotion.

Another exiciting addition to The Otto Empire family, Christopher Frey comes from strong technical and a post Production background.

Christopher’s short films have won awards worldwide, in London, San Paolo, France (Best Image (Cinematography) Award at the Lille International Film Festival) and he has won the Best Short Film at the Dubrovnik International Film Festival.

Chris has also built a reputation creating music videos; to date, Chris’ music videos have received over 1.5 million views on YouTube.

With a background in Post Production, in 2010 Christopher was principal designer on the title sequence for the Guillermo Del Toro feature film Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark.

Chris loves working with actors on performance based material, and combines artistic flair with technical knowledge when working with complex visual effects. His film-making coupled with the years of working professionally in post production completes a technically seamless pre to post experience.
