The latest Volkswagen Polo spot, via DDB Sydney, has just gone to air, including during Channel 9’s Underbelly. The line: “For dedicated followers of no one”.
Also screened tonight during Underbelly is the latest spot to launch the new Suzuki Kizashi, via The Sanford Partnership, Melbourne.

Holy jesus. Seriously? I’m not sure which makes me cringe more.
One looks like the nineties and the other makes me embarrassed to do what I do. Ouch.
Love the VW spot.
Nice work on Polo. Funny. Beards are cool.
What the…?
is that tim in the front seat?
I love Men With Beards as must as I love Men Without Hats!
The VW spot is great. World class. Well done guys.
Sorry, I thought you had to show your tits to air on Underbelly?
I love the voice they use on the Kisashi website to talk up the car. All that’s missing is…”and it could be yours, If The Price is Right!”.
Love the Polo spot. Who directed it?
Nice line and idea on Polo, the ad could’ve been better.
Polo. Love the line. Love the music. Love the ad.
Um. WTF?
Love the lo-fi retro feel of Polo. Very cool.
Get off the blog kiddies – the VW spot is a great f#@&%ng car – but you’d never know it watching this.
Isn’t ‘for dedicated followers of no-one’ an odd strategy for a mainstream, aspirational product like a VW?
Surely dedicated followers of no-one would drive something a bit more left-field like a Trabant, a Segway, a Dragula replica or a vintage Duesenberg…
Gary Freedman directed it. And a great job he did, too. Well done.
i fucking can’t stand this polo thing. it’s boring, its hard to understand and the effects are rubbish. the story goes nowhere, the characters aren’t in the least bit devloped and the gag at the end of the shoes is terrible.
it’s a wasted opportunity as far as i’m concerned.
VW 1, Suzuki 0.
To be more accurate:
VW 0, Suzuki minus 1.
Gotta agree with 4.43 on this one.
Wanted to like a locally made VW ad but had to rewind it and watch it again.
Still hard to follow and not a great pay off to a thought that doesn’t ring true for me for VW.
A shame as the client clearly bought into something they thought was going to be great.
No one commented on the Suzuki spot.,..
Ok, I will comment on the Suzuki spot.
It will sell a shit load of cars.
