The 2012 MADC Awards announces judges to be chaired by AFR columnist and creative director Rowan Dean – awards set for Thursday October 4

The 2012 Melbourne Advertising and Design Club Awards – to be held on Thursday, 4th October – has announced the eight judging panels who will assess the entries, led by chairman Rowan Dean (pictured), deputy editor of The Spectator Australia, columnist for the AFR and creative director.

MADC President Nigel Dawson says winning an award this year will be tough. Says Dawson: “We’ve got some of the industry’s top creative people on board and we’re asking them to make sure the work from Melbourne is judged on par with the best in the world.

“All of the judges are generously taking time out from their busy days to be of service, with many flying interstate to help bring fresh eyes to the work,” Dawson said.

Judging will be held at Risk Sound and at Media House, courtesy of The Age, with The Sweetshop hosting a judges’ cocktail party afterwards.

The finalists will be announced at a lunch on Thursday, 20th September.
