Message to the Troops, now in its third year, hopes to generate a record 30,000 messages in 2011.

For the first time, messages will be sent to Australian troops based on home soil serving in the important flood and cyclone recovery effort as well as those deployed abroad in countries including Afghanistan, Iraq, East Timor and the Solomon Islands.

Telstra has marshalled the support of its sports sponsorship partners – NRL, AFL, and Netball –  whose players feature in the TVCs, coming together, urging fans to get behind the campaign, and send messages, with the rally cry ‘Whoever you support, support our service men and women’.

The campaign runs from today through to 11:00 pm, Tuesday 26 April, and encompasses PR, TV, press, magazine, online and social media.
