image002.jpgAfter a competitive pitch involving three agencies, St. Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne Foundation has chosen Wilson Everard to promote its key fundraising event, Opera in The Market.

Says Peter Schell, St. Vincent’s head of philanthropy and partnerships: “With so many institutions looking to raise money, we wanted a campaign that would create a disturbance and yet be in keeping with the stylish and sophisticated nature of the event. Wilson Everard not only came up with exactly what we were looking for, they went beyond our original brief and gave us an innovative strategic plan capable of making a significant impact on the number of corporate sponsors we attract.”

Wilson Everard has also partnered with PHD Media to create a media roadshow.

Says Nick Hickford, Wilson Everard CEO: “The idea is to give St. Vincent’s a greater return on their investment in promoting the show. We’ll be meeting a number of major media in December to find partners who’d be happy to help promote this worthy cause.”

To raise funds, Opera in the Market brings together traditional opera with contemporary performers such as legendary jazz trumpeter James Morrison. The campaign features specially commissioned portraits of the performers by illustrator Bill Wood, and the event programs will become a collector’s piece.

The aim this year is to raise funds for in-home kidney dialysis machines. The machines cost $40k each with an additional $14k required by the patient to set up in the home. But they will give kidney patients a new found freedom from lengthy days spent travelling to hospital for treatment.
