St Kilda Film Festival whets film-fans’ appetites with launch of its 2017 trailer via By All Means

SKFF hero image.jpgEach year, Australia’s longest running festival of short films, the St Kilda Film Festival, whets the appetite of Australian film-fans with the launch of its official ‘trailer’. Last year saw Finch’s Patrick Hughes take a break from directing Stallone and Schwarzenegger in Hollywood to make the trailer, while 2017 sees Melbourne creative agency By All Means given the guernsey.

Featuring an ensemble of some of Melbourne’s most interesting actors, and produced by Craig Griffin of The Directors Group alongside a collection of Melbourne’s best and brightest names in production and post-production, this year’s trailer emphasises the time sensitive nature of shorts via the comical observation that, ‘In St Kilda, things happen quickly’.

Says Toby Cummings and Ed Howley, co-creative directors, By All Means: “It’s been both an honour and a pleasure to be invited to write, direct and help produce these films for the 2017 St Kilda Film Festival. It’s an amazing festival and we’re delighted to be able to support the Australian film and creative industries in this way.”

Says Craig Griffin, The Directors Group: “It’s been a real labour of love for all involved. We’re thankful to the festival for their support on the project and we’re equally thrilled with our cast and all the production support we received from the industry. It’s been a truly great collaboration and we couldn’t be happier with the result.”

The Palais Theatre will open its doors for the first time since its two-year, $20m renovation for the opening night of the festival which runs 18 – 27 May.
