oh. dear. god.
Another “It’s like…” ad. Yawn.
gay
oh. dear. george.
Great simple comms. it gets the message across clear and simple. i hope they follow it up with a series.
breathtakingly bad
The Saatchi boys must be thrilled that this rubbish is up…..it’ll take attention from their flagrant rip off.
Glad there was i voice over telling me what it was all about.
my mum could direct this better……..about as much intrigue and drama as clothes drying on a line.
Why would anyone PR this seriously!! If you have too stick it in B&T or Ad New where no one will read it.
one for the reel
Not a big fan, but it is light years in front of that ‘if it makes you happy’ crap that used to be on TV.
Overly sickly smily people holding up signs like ‘we’re your number one fan’.
I used to avoid certain roads when that was happening.
Makes you wish the dragon had won
Nice metaphors :
big steamrolling semi = profit hungry st george
stops for
prickly small customer
this is diabolical
Meaningless rubbish, mind you , clients get what they deserve. Its not even original, but the Corolla ad is equally shit.
It’s amazing creative people were supposed to have been involved in this crap.
Could do better….much better. I know St. George are a tough client but this is such wallpaper. And beige wallpaper at that.
Whoever decided to put it up here has no creative judgement whatsoever.
I want to shoot myself in the cock.
Way better than the previous stuff. This just makes me want to die a slow painful death of cancer instead of choke on my own vomit.
I saw it twice on telly last night.
The first time, it bored me.
The second time it made me angry.
I’d better not see it a third time, that’s all I can say. Because God only knows what comes after anger. A brain aneurysm?
No drama, and even out of focus. Won’t even comment on the idea.
disaster, good bye st.george
Does this not have the same tone as the Suncorp Bank brand ad? Capability of a big Bank. Personal touch of a small one….??? sounds very familar!!!!
The Singo name may be gone but the same amazing creative talent obviously remains
O&M deserve a bloody medal for being forced into working with that tag line, and getting an ad over the line that wasn’t just happy shiny bank people (Westpac take note).
But yes, it does also make me want to shoot myself in the cock. Does that count as ‘achieving cut through’?
The whole banking world is in denial. They can’t accept they’re banks. So they’re spending your money telling you they’re not really a bank, they’re more of a snuggle-factory. Is this what the punter wants to hear? Are the focus groups informing us that the most important consideration for a customer, is that their bank is staffed by ‘real people’? I don’t care whether my bank is run by satanist puppy-fuckers as long as they don’t go tit’s-up and take my savings with them. ‘Real people’ frequently make hideous mistakes. Real people are are corrupt and fraudulent. Give me a socially inept workaholic financial genius over the twat who lives next door any day.
@ Real Person- such a valid comment. Just look at the Comm Bank ads.
Saw this and thought it was the new Toyota ad. Same DOP? Same location? Same truck?
Time to get some creative guys involved St George.
I bet there were a few painful pricks on that shoot.
Well done StGeorge – you’ve just told everyone – what they probably didn’t know. You are a big reckless bank (or at least now owned by one) and you’re doing an ad that says your not – which means no one in thier right mind will believe you.
Yes – you are now a big bastard bank….welcome to the fold….
BTW the ad is as terrible as the strategy…
I’m sure the planner who was responsible for the Commonwealth Bank campaign was also the planner on this work……
Bring back Julie Anthony.
Is that a can of beer in the drink holder in the cabin of the truck
