Spinach, Melbourne creates ‘Real Estate Rumble’ iPhone game for First National Real Estate

spinach 3.jpgMelbourne agency Spinach has created an iPhone game which pits home builders against evil forces, as part of a marketing campaign for long-term client First National Real Estate.

Entitled ‘Real Estate Rumble’ and launched this week, the object of the free iPhone app is to build a dream home that an evil nemesis then seeks to destroy, stopping at nothing until the building has toppled into rack and ruin. Gamers have a diverse range of materials to build with while trying to defend their precious structure against a ruthless backyard onslaught.

spinach 2.jpgThe game was developed by Spinach to support the ‘Get the job done’ national competition where entrants can win one of five, $5000 Bunnings vouchers. However, consumers are not required to play the game in order to enter.

Spinach digital director Zoe Freeman said the game had been designed to support the competition, and be utilized by the brand for the long-term.

Says Freeman: “It’s an incredibly fun game that’s free to download and the branding is subtly incorporated into the game play. It’s simple enough for everyone to enjoy but complex enough to keep gamers coming back time and time again. The end result is that Real Estate Rumble is a classic commuter game that will live on users’ home screens for years and not days.

spinach 1.jpgSmart brands like First National have recognized that gaming is one of the new frontiers in customer engagement. Nothing bad ever came from giving consumers a fun place to play minus the conditional hard sell.”

Stewart Bunn, First National’s communications manager said of the game: “Real Estate Rumble is just for fun. You don’t have to play the game for a chance to win one of the five competition prizes but, like building up a real estate portfolio, the game is addictive.”‘

Customers can download their free game from Apple’s iTunes Store or the App Store; just search ‘Real Estate Rumble’.

To enter the competition, participants should visit www.firstnational.com.au or the website of their nearest First National office and follow the prompts to register. ‘

Get the job done’ runs until 31 October 2011.
