clipsal.jpgThe revolutionary new ‘Car of the Future’, debuting at Clipsal 500 Adelaide in February 2013, is the inspiration behind the event’s new marketing campaign from kwp! Advertising.

‘The Future Starts Here’ message leads the campaign, which was unveiled by South Australian Premier Jay Weatherill at a public launch for the V8 Supercar event last Friday afternoon.

Clipsal 2013.jpgkwp! creative director James Rickard says the creative builds excitement around a huge change in Australian Motorsport.

Says Rickard: “These ‘new breed’ car specifications, bringing with them new teams and new rivalries, are revolutionary and will be on show at Clipsal 500 Adelaide for the first time.

“We’ve created a campaign that leverages this, while building on popular elements from last year’s campaign including using the drivers as talent and maintaining the brand’s positioning as ‘The Race That Rocks’.”

The television commercial at the centre of the campaign shows the drivers being welcomed to the future in a high tech auditorium and culminates with the drivers leading the familiar foot stomp rhythm from the 2012 campaign.

The commercial will be supported by print, online, outdoor and radio activity rolling out from now until the event which runs from 28 February to 3 March, 2013.

Clipsal 500 Adelaide chief executive Mark Warren says the 2013 event presents an opportunity to attract even more new fans with the exciting changes.

Says Warren: “The first place you’ll see the new V8 Supercars Car of the Future take to the track is the 2013 Clipsal 500 Adelaide.

“It’s the first place Nissan Altima and Mercedes AMG cars will take on old rivals Ford and Holden in the battle for V8 Supercar supremacy.”
