Seek and you will find your calling
Everybody has a calling. A passion to do something that really makes them happy. But lots of people don’t pursue theirs because they don’t have the right education. That’s why Australia’s number one job site, SEEK, has launched a new service that helps people find the right course for their calling.
Leo Burnett, Melbourne developed the launch campaign for SEEK Learning, which kicks off with a TV commercial directed by Paul Middleditch.
The campaign shares the stories of people who are clearly stuck in the wrong job, and just can’t suppress their passion for their true calling. Thanks to SEEK Learning, they can finally stop dreaming about their dream job, and find a course that can help them start doing it.
A second TV spot, Radio, digital and OOH will round out the campaign in coming months.

Thumbs up!
My God – that is so contrived. Wrong idea, wrong director.
That big superhero “M” must be for MISS. The good stuff’s all old.
Wow…and I mean that in a bad way.
I suggest the creatives on this one find a new calling.
Wow. I mean that in a good way!
Middleditch’s shooting style didn’t suit the script. If it had looked more like a documentary the humour would have been better placed. It’s rare to see him miss the mark like that.
Horrible
I really like it.
Head and shoulders above most of the crap ads on telly.
Cheer up you lot. It’s just a bit of fun.
Horrible.
Made me chuckle. Nice little spot.
Not sure what it is about this spot, but it feels dated – idea/humour/delivery
At its best Seek gives hope. It inspires people to change – it recognises the potential the target see in themselves and encourages them to reach for it. Anything and everything is possible.
At its worst its laboured, uninspiring and symbolises a lack of achievement and no hope [played by no-hopers].
Sadly, this is an example of the latter.
Oh how good it would be to see ‘anonymous’ peoples portfolios. What a field day we’d have laughing at them. Please, post your work now!
So ordinary it hurts.
Tired ‘fish out of water’ strategy that is forced fed to the viewer. Severely over-written voice-over removes all humour. Shame, wasted opportunity.
Haven’t these been on TV for awhile – like ten or twelve years??????????
Official rating: 2/5*
Horrible.
I can see why Leo’s Melbourne don’t produce much TV.
Stick to print fellas!
Then the creatives at Leo’s typed in their details and we found them:
Joke writers for aussie sit-coms.
I think I work with that girl.
