Sam Cable: Hamburg school diary #5

Velkommen til København! (Welcome to Copenhagen).

On the weekend I journeyed to a land of fairy tales. A place where some of the most iconic stories of my childhood were written. For aspiring writers and copywriters, visiting Denmark was a creative pilgrimage. It was invaluable to taste the world which influenced the tales written by Hans Christian Andersen.

HAMBURG DIARIES 5b Copenhagen.jpgCopenhagen is one of the leading cultural hubs of Scandinavia; considered edgier than Stockholm and worldlier than Oslo. My trip to the capital led to a surprise visit to the most internationally awarded Danish advertising agency, UncleGrey. We also had the chance to meet Carl Angelo, who has appeared in the news recently for his experiments with 3D scanning and printing. Carl impulsivity makes him a creative to watch in the future.

Back in Hamburg, the preparations for Future Lions, Young Glory and The One Show are underway for many of the students. The school feels like the inside of a beehive. Every individual is buzzing away or dashing off to start a new conversation. The school never sits still. Competition season is here to stay. Let us hope I can add some Scandinavian flair to my award submission.
