Rodd Martin departs The Brandshop, Sydney to focus on consulting and directing commercials
EXCLUSIVE – Rodd Martin has left The Brandshop, Sydney, where he has been CD since July 2008, to focus on consulting and directing.
Martin told CB: “Some great opportunities have come up that I wouldn’t be able to look at if I was embedded in an agency full time. I’ve always enjoyed meeting and collaborating with new people and this move will allow me to work at different agencies, focus on some directing projects that have come up and look after a couple of direct clients”.
Martin (pictured from the short film ‘The Briefcase’), a highly awarded creative, has vast experience across the US, Australia and New Zealand. His award tally includes 7 AWARD pencils and multiple recognition at The One Show, Clio, NY Andy and Cannes, including a finalist for a Whybin/TBWA spot he directed in 2007.
Earlierin his career, Martin played a major part in establishing the New Yorkoffices for both Mojo and OMON. Back in Australia, he was alsoinstrumental in the creation of Brandhouse which grew to a staff of 75people in Sydney and Melbourne before being sold to Havas’ Arnold USnetwork.
