Robinson to exit Marketforce after 19 big years

Marketforce Perth general manager, Carrick Robinson, is leaving the advertising industry after 28 years – 19 of them at Marketforce.

“28 years is a long time by any industry standard – and I really couldn’t see myself continuing at this pace for another decade!”, he said.

“I have been privileged to work with some wonderfully talented people and some brilliant clients who have helped me and Marketforce achieve some truly remarkable things. I will leave Marketforce, with some great memories of an incredible journey and I wish everyone continued success.”

Robinson and his wife Evelyn – a former Marketforce employee herself – have purchased a large business, which they will take over in February. “It is still under a confidentiality contract,” said Robinson, “but I can tell you it is a distribution business with a staff of 14 and a very positive growth potential.”

Robinson will stay at Marketforce until the end of December after which he plans to take a break before picking up the reins of the new venture.

Robinson’s departure, along with other recent changes means the agency will start 2011 with a significantly changed senior management line-up. Driscoll said the recent hires of Nicole Walton as director of strategy, Rick Multari as director of client services, and Pat Lennox and Ben Green as joint group creative directors – to replace former ECD Andrew Tinning – is indicative of Marketforce’s plan to reshape its leadership and reinvigorate the agency.
