Retail Royalty Backed Start-Up ReleaseIt Appoints Yoghurt Digital As Digital Marketing Partner
Releaseit is a first of its kind marketplace taking advantage of the global shift to re-commerce. Never before has there been a one-stop-shop when it comes to being able to rent everything from furniture, to tools, or even a car.
The concept has been crafted by a team with the idea that acquiring more stuff at the expense of Mother Earth isn’t just old fashioned – it’s out of fashion. That owning ‘things’ that don’t get used aren’t just wasteful, it’s harmful. Those old consumerist rules are calling out to be broken and replaced with a circular economy in which we all buy less and rent more.
To complement this disruptive mindset, Yoghurt Digital has been appointed as the start-up’s Digital Marketing partner leading the entire Digital Marketing strategy for the start-up.
The Yoghurt team will be responsible for combining all the winning ingredients necessary to build and run Releaseit’s digital marketing strategy with the remit including the development and execution of SEO and content strategies, as well as managing all of their paid media activity.
As an agency with a reputation for cutting edge analysis and a full-flavoured approach to strategy, Yoghurt are a welcomed addition to the team.
Amplifying the team efforts will be Yoghurt’s co-founder and Strategy Director, Michael Laps, who will sit on Releaseit’s marketing advisory board.
Says Michael Laps of the relationship, “What Releaseit are building isn’t just disruptive – it’s also filled with purpose. Their vision has real heart, and we’re incredibly proud to be a part of their growth story – it’s a legacy-making opportunity.
“The fact they’ve pulled together the who’s who of e-commerce both into their team and as investors, tells you everything you need to know about their ambition and the quality of the concept.
“Having them put their trust in us to achieve that ambition is humbling and brings an opportunity for us to challenge the norm when it comes to Digital Marketing.”
Fronting this start-up venture is retail royalty Peter Krideras, who has been at the helm of some of Australia’s most successful e-commerce ventures including leading roles as Co-Founder of Click Frenzy and Head of eCommerce at Bing Lee.
Alongside is co-founder Stephen Kulmar, one of Australasia’s most well-regarded retail experts and founder of RetailOasis.
Krideras says of the appointment: “Having worked with Michael and the Yoghurt team before, it was an obvious choice to re-engage Yoghurt for the success of Releaseit. The team has an intimate understanding of how to best digest and strategise consumer data and then use this to inform strategic decision making for the entire Digital Marketing scope.
“The nimble and innovative nature of Michael and his team will allow us to commercialise and scale Releaseit at pace – a very important ingredient for our success.”
With aims to disrupt retail consumerism on behalf of the planet, Releaseit has secured its seed funding goal of $3 million AUD this September 2021, with a launch date set for later in 2021.
And with investors such as Hugo Dudley-Smith and Paul Greenberg already on board, closely followed by a power-house of investors and advisors, this is one market addition that can bring together the passionate environmentalists, the socially aware and tech-savvy online shoppers looking to rent stuff instead of buying it. All of whom can help contribute towards a circular economy in which we all waste less by buying less.
