RedBaloon1.pngRedBalloon, Australia and New Zealand’s leading experience gift retailer, has just launched two new TVC and radio executions as part of an integrated media campaign titled “Stories” which encourages people to give someone a gift as unique as they are.

The campaign was created through a collaborative approach between The Happy Farm, DMG Radio and the brand team at RedBalloon.  Head of Marketing at RedBalloon, Kristie Buchanan explains, “we wanted to communicate, with a bit of character and cheekiness that to get a gift right, you really have to consider your recipient.”

Both television executions at the heart of the Stories campaign featurethe characters Ben and Katy. Told from the perspective of theirfriends, they provide the audience with a sneak peek into the lives ofboth hero characters.  Katy is obsessed with her parsley grinder andlaces absolutely everything with parsley.  Whilst Ben obscurely treatshis rusty old ’92 hatchback as though it’s a V8 race car (he has evenconvinced his family to play pit crew).

RedBalloon’s “Stories” campaign also includes significant social media support. Specifically, the brand is running a content-generation competition, ‘Share a Story’ where users are asked to share stories of unique people in their lives who deserve a unique gift. Social sharing is encouraged, as the most liked stories win. The initiative is also being supported across Facebook and Twitter.

The campaign went live on Monday 18th October and ends on Sunday 31st October.
