Radio plays a part in Scope’s ‘See Me’ September advertising campaign via Leo Burnett, Melbourne

When people encounter someone with a disability they often try to conceal their awkwardness. The following radio spot, via Leo Burnett Melbourne, aims to bring these reactions to life from the point-of-view of the disabled. It ran as part of Scope’s ‘See Me’ September campaign – a month dedicated to seeing the person, not the disability.

Great insight that ties in perfectly with the campaign idea = more great work for a worthy cause.
Sobering stuff. And I’ve been drinking since 9.40.
Nice little spot. Good insight, well executed.
Great radio spot. Really nice guys.
It’s real. It’s relevant. And it’s powerful radio with trying way too hard. Which is very rare.
Hats off to the client for putting another strong, emotive piece of creative out there.
Moving stuff guys. I’m not too proud to say that I teared up. Well done.
Another good submission gets good comments… anyone seeing a pattern here?
Agree with all of the above.
Erm….interestingly similar, well pretty identical really… for the same client a few years later…..but great cause.

sorry sorry but (11.38)….the only similarity is the opening line. This spot is a based on a completely different insight – avoidance. The TV spot is simply about looking past disability. They are nothing alike.
Maybe stop commenting close to midnight 11.38PM. Firstly, it’s not the same client. Secondly, they are identical in the same way two different bank ads are identical because they both mention the word ‘savings’. Lastly, this is a much more powerful construct in radio as you are drawn into the message rather than being hit over the head with it.
Good stuff. Really smart radio.
well i like this radio ad…and i wrote the tv ad that someone says is similar…i dont think it is. well done guys hope you raise some money and get a metal doorstop.
