Rabbit director Shannon Murphy’s debut feature film Babyteeth cleans up at AACTA Awards

The 2020 Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts Awards were held yesterday and Shannon Murphy’s debut feature film Babyteeth cleaned up.

The film won the following major awards:
Best Film
Best Direction
Best Lead Actor
Best Lead Actress
Best Supporting Actor
Best Supporting Actress
Best Screenplay
Best Casting
Best Original Score

Best Supporting Actor winner Ben Mendelsohn said: “Of all the films I’ve made that I’ve seen, it’s my favourite…Importantly it seems to me to be about people who have flaws – ridiculous flaws, funny flaws – who are desperately trying to contribute and be together in a really difficult circumstance.”
