Publishers Australia and Magazine Publishers of Australia present Magazine Week: November 7-11 at Darling Harbour in Sydney

mpa.jpgGlobal publishing leaders will converge on Sydney in November for the inaugural Magazine Week, presented by the industry’s two peak bodies: Publishers Australia and Magazine Publishers of Australia.

Magazine Week (November 7-11) is attracting publishing professionals from across Australia and culminates in the annual Publishers Australia Excellence Awards, hosted by Adam Spencer.

Among the 40 expert speakers at the Magazine Week conference are Marie Claire editor-in-chief Jackie Frank, Priceline’s marketing director Amanda Connors, MindFood publisher Michael McHugh and Allure Media managing director Chris Janz.

 

Australia’s leading media industry commentator, Steve Allen will deliver a keynote and the international contingent includes subscriptions analyst Alan Weaver (UK) and internet marketing guru Ryan Dohrn, CEO of Brain Swell Media (USA).

 

Participants will explore topics such as how to exploit social media, how to grow subscriptions revenue and the opportunities presented by new platforms such as the iPad and smartphones.

Publishers Australia chairman Geoff Hird said the intensive week of business development and networking reflects the industry’s intellectual and economic vitality.
