Renowned journalist Heather Jacobs joins Clemenger BBDO Sydney as director of pr
Former deputy editor of Campaign Brief Australia and Asia, Heather Jacobs has joined Clemenger BBDO Sydney as director of public relations.
Jacobs has worked as a journalist covering the advertising industry for 15 years in magazines published in Australia, the US and Asia, before moving into public relations in 2011.
Most recently she spent a year at Howorth, a division of Ogilvy PR, as editorial specialist where she wrote feature articles, whitepapers, blogs and published compendiums for clients including Telstra Enterprise & Government, Canon, IBM and Hitachi. She also played a key role on Austrade’s Building Brand Australia program, contributing feature articles for Australia Unlimited, a monthly iPad magazine app.
Previous roles include editor of B&T; editor of Adbrief; senior reporter at New York-based TVC production magazine, Shoot; and media reporter at Ad News.
Jacobs has had freelance articles published in the Sydney Morning Herald, The Sun-Herald, Campaign UK and Asia, PR Week, and Marketing magazine, Singapore and Hong Kong.
She also spent a year back in 1997 working at the first western PR company to open in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, on clients including Cathay Pacific, LG, Unilever and Hewlett Packard.
Jacob has a Bachelor of Arts in Applied Communications and a Master’s of Letters in Creative Writing from the University of Sydney.
