Clemenger BBDO Sydney creates Pepsi Max ‘Top Mates’ app to give men back their ‘mate time’

As men reach their twenties, they find it harder to spend time with their mates.
Pepsi Max, via Clemenger BBDO Sydney, wanted to give them a tool that helped them get back that time, so they created the ‘Top Mates’ app that turned hanging out into a game that actually rewarded men for spending time together.
By ‘bumping’ phones, mates recorded the time spent together. ‘Stealth Tools’ helped guys escape commitments by physically and digitally masking their whereabouts, allowing them to spend even more time with their mates.

Way to recycle the pepsi max app idea.
Tired strategy done better by every beer brand in the world. That spanish one with the pub excuse booth comes to mind. Another meh from Clems Sydney. But hey they got a finalist in ambient at Award, so things are really looking up.
Yep, you’re right. One scam ad in one pub definitely is better than a legitimate app.
Watch the case study Huffy, they built a shitload of custom made booths and delivered them. Might pay to know what’s been done if you want a career in advertising.
I love advertising
this will not help anyone spend more time with anyone and will potentially get people fired.
Why was the copywriter on this let go from Clemenger if they are holding it up as a shop window piece?
Farked you must believe everything they say in case studies. You’ll be a great judge one day.
This is absolute shit, has no link to the product and will not inspire guys to buy pepsi. Epic fail.

Clems should hold this up as a good piece of work because, well, it’s a good piece of work squeezed from an impossibly difficult client. And although I’m no longer at Clems there are other people there who helped bring this to life, not just me.
Redundancy or no, thanks for the support.
