The team delivered a solution whereby through a series of sliders and dials, users were able manipulate the content displayed on the website in real-time without the need for Flash.

From a design point of view the team at Pollen created a vintage look and feel to suit the brewery’s focus on ‘craft brewing’, the art deco styled illustrations give the site a unique personality.

At the same time, Tigerspike was tasked with delivering an app to integrate into the same campaign.  This became the winning combination in the eyes of the client, the customer and – ultimately – our peers themselves, said Ross Gales, Co-founder at Pollen Digital.

The website was well received by the client and beer drinking community with 100,000 unique visitors in the first three months alone (with no media spend).  It also garnered support from social media and blogosphere with reviews in many web industry and beer blogs.

Cascade picked up two awards at the 17th AIMIA (Australian Interactive Media Industry Association) Awards held earlier this month, winning the Best Advertising or Marketing category for Cascade Brew Your Own Site and Brewers Nose App, and Best Mobile Product or Service for Brewers Nose iPhone App.

“We’re blown away, our team put a lot of work into this site and to berecognised within the industry for our efforts is a great achievement, working with the guys at Droga5 over the past few years has presentedus some great opportunities and challenges and this project wascertainly both of those,” said Gales.

Droga5 certainly didn’t underestimate the complexity of the brief to deliver exceptional results for the client.

“We set Pollen a huge challenge in terms of the solution we required for the site. We didn’t want to use flash for this project, so that meant they needed to prototype and test at every stage of development, to deliver a cross-browser and cross device compatible site,” said Brett Mitchell, Director of Digital Droga5. “We knew they were up to the challenge, we’ve worked with Pollen for nearly 3 years now on projects for VB, Crown Lager and Telstra and they always deliver an exceptional result both creatively and technically.”
