one.jpgSwedish born photographer Ingvar Kenne is launching a carefully editied collection of seemingly anonymous portraits shot across the globe over the past 15 years as well as exhibiting his works at the National Portrait Gallery, Canberra with a national tour to follow.

Citizen is the sequel to his other book Chasing Summer and together becomes an unparalleled showcase of the artist’s photographic portrait style over 20 years.

two.jpgIn 1995, Swedish born photographer Ingvar Kenne arrived in Sydney, with little more than a camera and a motor cycle. Falling in love, with both his future wife and his future home, Kenne has been based on Australian shores since 1996.

The journey, spanning 746 days  across approximately 35 countries, was documented by Kenne, sending film to his lab in Sweden and receiving proofs in return, to ensure his photographic style was holding true. The images captured across the globe became his first book Chasing Summer – Published by Bird Press in 2004.

After more than a decade, based in Australia, shooting portraits across the globe for leading publications and commercial clients, as well as his own artistic pursuits – Kenne has also recieved the National Portrait Gallery Photographic Prize.

Citizen is a photographic monograph of true international standard. Edited over a period of five years, everything about this publication is commited to showcasing the photographers through the publisher passion for the book as an object.

In addition to the public release, a limited edition of 150 copies is also available boxed, signed and numbered with a selection of four editioned prints personally selected by the artists.
