Pets come first in Petbarn’s newly launched ‘Life’s a Treat’ brand platform via BMF
Petbarn has launched a new brand platform ‘Life’s a Treat’, created by BMF. The platform highlights all the ways the pet speciality store is committed to the health and happiness of pets and pet parents.
Whether it’s by providing expert nutrition advice, a taste guarantee, everything a puppy needs or even free in store water testing, Petbarn knows that when pet’s live long, healthy, happy lives, their owners’ lives are much better, too.
The campaign focuses on everyday moments that make us love our pets and is a glimpse into the minds of a dog, cat, bearded dragon, fish and puppy when they’re given the Petbarn treatment.
Says Dantie van der Merwe, creative director at BMF: “It doesn’t take much to make pets happy. Sometimes it takes just exactly the right thing. We hope it brings a knowing smile to both pets and pet parents everywhere.”
Says Adriane McDermott, chief marketing officer at Petbarn: “Everything we do and everything we range at Petbarn helps make ‘life a treat’ because we believe pet’s health and wellness leads to everyone’s happiness. We know they’re more than pets, BMF helped us show we’re much more than just a pet store.”
The campaign launches in Australia across TV, BVOD, OOH, display, radio and social to connect with pet owner audiences.

Nice work, Petbarn team. Lovely, funny writing. Good job all, looking at you Sammy & Tones.
These really deliver. Great writing, timing and casting. And congrats for getting, “magnificent poo” into a TVC.
The majority of dogs in the neighbourhood where I walk daily must be on this stuff, because I’be never seen so much magnificent poo in my life.
Lovely stuff.
alot.
Great work. Made me laugh.
Totally charming.
Great spots. Excellent writing. The ooh is top too.. those protruding cat paws. Touch.
Really nice writing and craft as per usual from BMF.
Thank you,
The Industry
@Reevesy, these goodies actually came from Ellie & Nadia. 🙂
Did you write and VO these?
Great campaign. Writing. Tagline. Tone. Voice-over pick. Customised animation. Sweet.
Wanted so much to like these but they fall a bit flat. Perhaps it’s the VO talent. Everything is just a bit too passive – passive action, passive script, passive editing, passive VO. The VO talent needed to work harder to land these – someone with more character.
Couldn’t disagree more. Lovely work BMF. Beautifully underplayed and absolutely love the voice talent.
You’re a dumbass
DDB has emotional Storytelling.
With Tasmania and NT tourism, Carsales and now this it feels like BMF has embraced voyeuristic realism.
Given BMF poached 99% of the talented ones from DDB over the years, it’s no surprise.
Craft. Talent. Voiceover.
In bmf must stand for bland.
Or, in your case, Bum.
It’s just the ALDI / Tassie schtick for pets. Got nothing on the Droga5 PetCo work.
Droga5 PetCo has got nothing on ‘What your Mom would feed you if your Mom were a man’.
Really enjoyed these. Managed to get “magnificent poo” on air! And LOVE the end frame animation, congrats team
Gr8 stuff.
Boops all round.
Pet cuteness backed by a solid messages across each ad with a fun endframe – nice work!
PS. Great lighting on the cat.
@ Got any new tricks?
Aldi and Tourism Tas schtick? They are two totally different brands and the work is nothing alike. Do you even advertise bro?
Nice campaign BMF.
Looks like Sal B had a hand in this.
The only remotely clever headline is ‘Garys Happy Place’. The rest of this is standard category fluff.
