Paul Fenton leaves Arnold Furnace – Tom Spicer appointed national executive creative director
CB Exclusive – After being a big part of Arnold Furnace for the past six years, joint national creative director, Paul Fenton, has resigned and will leave the agency this week.
As a result of his decision, Tom Spicer, currently joint national creative director, will become executive creative director of Arnold Furnace.
Says Fenton: “I’ve spent the past six years working with some incredibly clever people, staff and clients alike. I love the relationships I have built over that period. It’s now time to change my career direction, and I’m currently talking to a few people about some new business opportunities to help make that possible here and overseas. Change is necessary, scary, but very bloody exciting.”
Spicer will take on his new responsibility from next week.
Says Spicer: “It’s been an absolute privilege to work with Paulie over the last two years. He’s an incredibly talented man and also a lovely bloke, which is a pretty special mix. I’m happy for Paulie as he takes this change of direction but I’ll certainly miss his infectious enthusiasm and passion for all things art direction. On a positive note I won’t have to listen to his terrible jokes quite so often and it also presents an exciting opportunity for Arnold Furnace as we look to shake things up, restructuring the department and adding more teams. As one door closes another always opens.”
