Panalux sale sheds light on crisis in Australia’s film industry – with ramifications for TVC sector
The crisis in the Australian screen sector servicing international films has reached a tipping point, with major infrastructure-provider Panavision announcing it is being forced to sell its lighting division, reports Michael Bodey in the Media section of today’s Australian.
A Save Our Industry Jobs online petition has been established, urging Prime Minister Julia Gillard to take action because the “government’s current Location Offset and Post, Digital and Visual Effects Offset schemes are failing to deliver on their policy objective of attracting international productions to Australia”.
The crisis is bound to also have ramifications for the TVC sector.
