100 guests gather in Sydney to honour Saatchi & Saatchi Australia’s milestone 40th Anniversary
Honouring the 40th Anniversary of Saatchi & Saatchi in Australia, 100 guests including clients, staff, consultants, trade media and some alumni, gathered at the Quay Restaurant in The Rocks on Thursday night to celebrate “40 Years of Nothing Is Impossible.”
Honouring the agency’s milestone birthday, guests were treated to a sit-down dinner along with engaging, fun and heartfelt speeches from past and present agency staff (including former worldwide creative director Bob Isherwood) and clients.
Standout campaigns from the past 40 years were also celebrated and the agency’s reputation of being the “only agency your mum has ever heard of” was cheered along on the night.
Says Anthony Gregorio, CEO, Saatchi & Saatchi Australia: “There’s a reason Saatchi & Saatchi is the most famous brand in advertising.
“It’s great to take a moment to come together to celebrate and recognise the power of the Saatchi & Saatchi brand; the people that have given it their all, and the amazing work that has propelled many clients and brands forward.
“As we toast to the past, we look forward to exciting days ahead. The progressive and adventurous spirit that embodies the brand touches all those who walk through the agency’s doors.
“It’s a privilege and an honour to lead Saatchi & Saatchi here in Australia.”
Says Michael Rebelo, CEO, Publicis Groupe ANZ: “Saatchi & Saatchi Australia certainly holds a special place in my heart. It is one of those rare agencies that has four decades of rich history. And with Anthony, Spirko (Mike Spirkovski) and the team surrounding him, I’m confident they will all make significant contributions to its future legacy.”

S&S Australia. First the purchase of Gough Waterhouse in Sydney. Then the purchase of Mullins Clarke and Ralph in Melbourne. Some great people, great work and great times.
Viewing the work over recent Yuit would seem that the great people and the great work are/is long gone.
*Years
I’m still smarting from my dismissal in 2001.
Never forgive, never forget.
yup @B&T, but they were up themselves
A number of high profile and/or long serving women employees seem to have missed their invitations.
Sandra Yates, Sharon Skeggs, Simone Bartley, KCT, Linda Robson all seem to have been there…
Are you saying that’s enough representation (plus current clients) out of 100 guests?
Jane Caro?
Yes, but no creatives…you know, the workers who make the actual product…
Martin Sorell was CFO and would make the odd flying visit to check things out, as would Jeremy Sinclair. Jeremy and Bill Muirhead have often been referred to as the 3rd and 4th brothers].
But, of all the great Saatchi stories over the years, none beats John McCabe’s famous One Show Jury Invite scam. Brilliantly conceived, brilliantly executed – a stroke of McCabe genius.
Please elaborate.
Ask the old S&S crew who were there when Bob was ECD.
Thank you S&S for 15 great years and another great night. Exceptionally well handled event.
Neither Jeremy Sinclair or Bill Muirhead were ever referred to as the 3rd or 4th brothers; you might be thinking of Tim Bell who was the ‘3rd brother.’ The lack of alumni is a pity: DASH, Brian Sheehan, Dave Birrell that Foley chap who all made a huge contribution to the success of the agency over the years.
