The four agencies will each receive a $500 bar tab to celebrate their win and are shortlisted to compete for the major prize of return tickets to the Cannes Lions International Advertising Festival next June.

In announcing the latest winners in The BIG Creative award program, established by oOh! last year to help improve the standard of billboard creative in Australia, National oOhroad! manager, Steve Danaher said each campaign met the Five Golden Rules for effectiveness – simplicity, clear branding, visual appeal, language and innovation.

The stand-out 7-Eleven “Good Call” metropolitan campaign by Leo Burnett was chosen because of its clever use of simplicity and bold colouring.

Says Danaher: “The Good Call ad cleverly communicates so much visually and simply with strong human images against a contrasting background and virtually without the need for any copy.

Carlton Draught’s “Best served with …” campaign by Clemenger was one of two regional winners and was chosen for its cheeky, witty copy that appeals to the target demographic, plus its visual clarity. Its simple use of clear yellow copy and imagery on a black background ensure the copy is easy to read and the beer is seen in a matter of seconds.”
