Ogilvy wins January NAB Newspaper Ad of the Month for Brothersinarms – no December winner
The last month of 2010 was disappointing for the New Zealand NAB Ad of the Month series – which allow Australian produced ads – with the judges deciding not to select a December winner. “There were some missed opportunities but nothing stood out”.
The December and January Ad of the Month judges were Auckland-based Kim Ellison – Hotfoot, Nic Hall – Ogilvy and Gavin Siakimotu – DDB.
However, 2011 has started well with Ogilvy Auckland’s Brothersinarms advertisement for the youth mentoring scheme winning the January award. The judges described the long copy ad as “compelling and eye catching with really engaging copy” – Nic Hall didn’t participate in the final vote.
Credits for the winning ad are:
Agency: Ogilvy, Auckland
Executive Creative Director: Damon O’Leary
Group Heads: Nic Hall & Richard Loseby
Creative team: Freddie Coltart & Matt Williams
Ogilvy’s winning team will receive $250 cash. The ad also appears in the “What’s New” section of AdMedia and becomes a Finalist in the 2011 $10,000 Newspaper Ad of Year competition. Any ad that’s run in any newspaper around the country is eligible to enter the competition. Email ideas@nabs.co.nz for competition details.
