NZ Axis shortlist: DDB leads the agency pack
DDB New Zealand, the newly crowned Campaign Brief NZ Agency of theYear, leads the agency pack at the shortlist stage of the 2010 AxisAwards. Not counting craft, DDB has 70 finalists, well ahead of secondplaced Colenso BBDO with 48 finalists. Further back is Saatchi &Saatchi and DraftFCB with 17 finalists each, followed Special with 13 and TBWA\Whybin with 12 finalists.
DDB Group executive creative director Toby Talbot is suitably impressedby this year’s tally: “DDB Group has outdone itself. I’m so thrilledfor all parts of our business who have all contributed to this amazingtally. Winning Campaign Brief Agency of the Year was a good start tothe week. 72 finalists at your local show isn’t a bad way to round offyour Tuesday. Hopefully by Friday we will have achieved worlddomination.”
Other shops with finalists are: Clemenger BBDO, Wellington (6), AIMProximity (5), Ogilvy (5), Publicis Mojo (2), Rapp (2), Shine (2), Y&R (2), JWT (1), .99 (1), Barnes Catmur (1) Republik (1) and Big Communications(1).
The number of entries were up by 40 on 2009. Thepreliminary judging has been carried out by some of New Zealand’sleading creatives and now the finalists have been sent off to theinternational panel.
