New MasterCard spot by McCann-Erickson, Sydney focuses on making life simpler
MasterCard has launched a new campaign via McCann Erickson, Sydney to promote its new PayPass system as part of the brand’s priceless positioning. Built on the premise of “Tap n’ go”, PayPass is a non-contact payment system for purchases under $100, and where available in stores, enables the customer to simply “tap” the terminal to record their payment; saving time in lengthy queues and the need to swipe a card or enter a PIN.

Up to the usual standard of work from this team/agency/cd.
Please burn my eyes out.
Fuck me!
Why do agencies make such bad choices?
That’s the most confusing thing I’ve seen for some time. I still don’t know what it’s selling.
Nice tracking shot.
Nice grade.
Nice musac.
Bland ad.
Wasted opportunity.
This is way better

complete and utter bollocks – what happened to the clearest communication strategy and idea in the category? Thrown away needlesly…
Thank goodness I can now get those 37 seconds per day back I would normally spend swiping my card and waiting for my PIN to be approved.
Don Draper was right not to take a job there. “It’s a sausage factory”.
Time is measured in millimeters, which now means that any good watch can be replaced with a plastic protractor.
This is exactly how the metric system started and, as we all know, lead to the creation of Nazi Germany.
And French people.
I just wasted 30 of my 37 secs watching this.
terrible.
old fashioned direction.
ruins a good campaign…..straight to the gallows.
cheese to the max.
horrendous.
mastercard is now the mistress to every other card company.
i’m embarrassed for anyone who has it in their wallet.
What a great brief. And what a failure of communication.
Huh? Was that saying anything? From priceless to clueless in 30 seconds flat. Very, very flat.
Can somebody please explain to me what I just saw?
Their creative just keeps getting worse.
What the fuck was that?
Indeed. Great brief wasted.
Killing one of the world’s greatest campaigns in 30 seconds… PRICELESS!
jesus that is bad….
Mmmm testy!
Wow. Where is the defence?
Or is it really that bad?
not even a good director can save a bad script
It’s 1.20 am and my two year old daughter couldn’t sleep due to teething and a cold.
Then that Mastercard spot came to the rescue.
Sleeping soundly now. Many thanks.
This ad will be responsible for so many suicides.
Excellent tracking shot.
Excellent grade.
excellent music.
magic ad.
priceless
Is this going to be one of your three most talked about ads in Australia?
I fucking doubt it.
Really Excellent Tracking shot
Fucking terrible grade
Ok Music
Average ad
Suspiciously easy to steal product, theft is but a few millimeters away!
Priceless indeed
For some reason it reminds of the old Werthers Original ad, just needs some dodgy euro voice dubbing.
Complete BOS
.
POSSIBLY THE WORST AD EVER MADE IN THE HISTORY OF AD MAKING
I am positively talking about this ad.
Not to ad to the negativity in the world, but this ad is an example of the type of creative McCann values. Safe, client pleasing, box-ticking, theoretical garbage. Observation of their current creative leadership should indicate the true value placed on creativity.
it makes no difference how many negative/honest/constructive/positive comments are posted the CD is still going to “know” that that you all dont know shit. I think that might be part of the problem
Can someone please tell what music is on the advert? It’s great.
Music?
Like Aus_Roh, I’m trying to work out what the music is on this advert.
If anyone could help, please post here, thanks.
Oh yeah…. shit ad, but then 99% of them are aren’t they?
