Richard_de_Nys.jpgAdvertising, creative and strategic agencies have a new solution for delivering interactive projects – Tectonic Digital, a digital production company just launched in Sydney. Billed as “Not Creatives”, they’re a company of digital technical talent with finesse.

Digital Production Director Richard de Nys (pictured) says online advertising as a segment has matured and diversified to the extent that delivering quality interactive projects demands a range of specialist skills: “As a result of the industry maturing, we’ll increasingly see advertising agencies move away from executing digital advertising in-house. Ad agencies typically work with a production company to execute a TVC, and there’s good reason to use a similar approach with digital.”

Sophisticated online advertising campaigns are increasingly demandingto produce, requiring technical skills such as programming, data andsystems integration, animation, web video, 3D modelling, hosting andinternet security; a solid foundation in good user experience andusability; and the finesse to bring it all together with the integritythat leading advertisers expect.

Tectonic Digital provides agencies with access to specialistinteractive knowledge and skills without the overhead of an in-housedigital production team. That frees agencies to focus on high-valueideas, confident they’ll achieve a good production outcome. TectonicDigital complements agencies with a full suite of production and userexperience capabilities, which averts creative turf-wars.

Tectonic Digital founder Richard de Nys has orchestrated onlineprojects internationally since 1998, along the way establishing andeventually selling a successful European full-service web agency. Mostrecently de Nys has worked with a number of Sydney’s leading integratedadvertising agencies including Three Drunk Monkeys, and Lowe Sydneywhere he led digital production of the multi-award-winning Tree Peoplecampaign for New Zealand’s Genesis Energy.
