Mr Mumbles scores University of Sydney win

Sydney Indie agency Mr Mumbles has won a project to create the strategic brand and communications platform for the University of Sydney’s new Centre for Obesity, Diabetes and Cardiovascular Diseases (CODCD).  The agency won the account in a competitive pitch and is tasked with creating a communications campaign that will launch the Centre to Australia and the world. 

The University of Sydney was awarded a $95 million grant from thefederal government towards the $385 million Centre, with the mission”to improve human health by the prevention and control of obesity,diabetes and cardiovascular diseases”.  

These are three of the leading causes of death and disability inAustralia. Cardiovascular disease alone is responsible for 39% ofdeaths and 18% of the disability-adjusted life years lost to theAustralian community due to ill health, with those living in rural orremote areas worse affected.

Says Andrew Town, creative partner at Mr Mumbles: “Our task is todevelop the strategic brand platform and umbrella campaign for allcommunications for the Centre – internal and external. In terms ofdeveloping the brand, it’s a new from-the-ground project – we’re notrevising anything, we’re starting fresh, which is an exciting creativechallenge for us. We are obviously both excited and honoured to be partof such an important University of Sydney initiative.”

The work created by Mr Mumbles will be used to raise donations, recruitinternational experts to work with the Centre and attract students tothe University of Sydney.
