The APG Awards, which honors planners and strategists, is calling for entries to their annual awards, and have recruited mothers of the planners to help the cause.
APG is now opening up the award categories to include ‘communications and media strategists’. So entries will be judged based on either ‘brand’ or ‘channel’ categories with awards for ‘Campaigns for Established Service Brands, Campaigns for Established Product Brands, Campaigns for New Brands or Advertisers and Campaigns for Public Service and Charity’.

A more appropriate question for this blog is “What exactly do art directors do?”
Thanks God. Another set of awards. Advertising was running perilously short of them.
That’s not fair 3:22, they’re great at putting a logo on the writers’ ideas.

OR polishing turd ideas.
Lovely. Nice. Sweet.
How many times do we have to see ‘parents off’ executions?
it was a fantastic idea and fairly original when Zig (toronto) did it 8 years ago.
3:22, Good Art Directors spend most of their time writing witty prose on Campaign Brief, then hand the writer a line and tell them to think of a visual for 5 minutes before a meeting.
Good Writers stay back late trying to turn an Art Directors nonsensical word document into a presentable campaign, realise it’s futile and redo the whole thing themselves.
So not much really.
Their Mums aren’t the only people who don’t have a clue what planners do.
